Popping into my local bakers this morning to grab a coffee I noticed that on sale were Rock Cakes. I havent seen these in years and remember making them with my mum.
Anyone got a good recipe, I fancy making some.....

I remember rock cakes too! They were the only thing I could cook to perfection as a child. I can't remember the recipe though. Its funny I had forgotton all about them until you mentioned them.

I havent made rock cakes since cookery class in school, mostly used after class to throw off one another.
...and the Brain -
I recall that you cream together 4 ozs each of butter and marge and whisk in 2 eggs and a bunch of chopped fruit and then whisk in some 4 ozs of self raising flour adnd bake for 10 - 15 mins at mark 5 or is that fairy cakes. Sprinkle rough sugar crystals over the top while they cook.
Don't trust this recipe haven't made them since Moff was wee.
